We made our first adventure to ASDA (English wal-mart) Today, that was fun. :]
Hey, Why didn't we pack my jeans? Send those soon please. The American Eagle 14 Long ones please. :] I love you all SO MUCH.
GUESS WHO I SAW IN THE TEMPLE?! Telfords! Also...ma...I left my temple reccommend home..so...in your next letter maybe? :] But I got the OK. It was funny actually, I walked in and asked if they knew the telfords and they said yes, but they were in the next shift and I was a bit sad. So we go in and instead of taking the 4 girls in front of me they took me next. When I walked into the Celestial room BAM. There they were! :D (Brother Telford gave me my patriarchal blessing) Sister Telford gave me a huge hug and I chatted with them for a bit.
I love you I love you I love you.
The church is true and I am doing so well! :]
Love from England!
Sister Barney :]

HELLO!! :D
IT'S BEEN A WEEK!
I'll attach all my pictures, This has been the most packed in week of my LIFE. Seriously. BUT. I am loving every minute of it! When I wrote to you last seems like two seconds ago but SO much has happened. First things first, my blood was 2.5 on Sunday (Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven eh?) WOOT. Then..I HAVE THE BEST COMPANION IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. We all collaberate into this meeting to find out who our companions are and (Side story: Before I got my call I said I didn't want to go stateside unless it was spanish speaking.. OR to the phillipines) I met Sister Once. HOLD UP. It's pronounced own-say. I super wanted her to be my companion and guess what!? She isn't. :/
JUST KIDDING! :] She's 5 feet no inches and completely gorgeous...and....PHILLIPINO! :D She thinks I'm beautiful and says I remind her of her sister. I am the senior companion! My District is Mosiah and they rock. My DL (District Leader [They made Jaden a District leader by the way! Woop woop!]) is Elder Moreiro. He is from Portugal (Sister Jacee Thornley is there right? :D) But has lived in England half his life! Roll the R's when you say his name, Moh-reh-row. Super great guy. His comp is Elder Porter from West valley, he's a funny little man. Loud, but funny. Then goes Elder White and Elder Taite. Hilarious. Elder white and I are buds, I keep an eye out for him and he's awesome. Tait is a funny skinny white kid. Elder Williams and Elder Rockne are also FANTASTIC. (Tag them and anyone else I mention in this status!) It's funny, the only two people I knew going in are companions in my district! We call Elder Rockne White bread and he makes us all laugh because he's super random. Elder Williams is doing great, it's so good to have him in my district. Then Sister Jones (she's my rigby soul sister and I love her) and Sister Nelson, the blonde from California. ;] They are my roommates. :] OK. Lets crack on then shall we? Enough rubbish. :]
I am being dead serious when I say I think in English/scottish accent. I love it.
We're teaching 3 investigators right now and it's difficult but good! They are our teachers..which is interesting..I'll hopefully write more about them next week. Missionary Standard Time is seriously at least 3 times as fast as normal time. It's CRAZY. I'm learning so much.. I love the scriptures. Thank you Mamma for teaching me HOW to read the scriptures, all those times teaching gospel doctrine and taking those classes paid off when you shared all the stuff with ME. I'm like the only on that uses footnotes and I love it! I know my way around the scriptures and it's fantastic. People in my district ask me all the time why I seem so confident when I say things and when we roll teach; and I always say "Because it does no good to be nervous!" Its the truth! The first few days sleep wise were rough, I slept super well and through the nights but I was just exhausted all day. Now I'm adjusted. MA. You'd be proud of me! Last night all the girls were like "Lets get together and talk about our boyfriends and our families and eat junk." Normally, I'd so be there BUT. I had committed to myself that I would be in bed by 10 to be well rested so I politely declined and I feel AWESOME TODAY! All the other sisters are groggy. OBEDIENCE. I really try hard to have EXACT obedience.
I'm being fed well! The food is great, I love all the English food and I'm trying really hard to eat lots of fruit and treat my body nicely. :] Speaking of that, I went on a RUN on Friday. ELIZA LYNN BARNEY WENT ON A RUN EVERYONE. I never thought I could do that and feel good, but it happened! I went with Sister Burrige from Australia, we're allowed to switch during Excercise time. I look forward to doing that some more. Mostly we take long walks and take lots of pictures.
You know the phrase "Pray Always"? MISSIONARIES. That's us! I roll out of bed onto my knees and pray, I pray over breakfast, I pray to open and close my studies, before we teach, to open a lesson, to close a lesson, lunch, dinner, before bed. ALWAYS. But it's amazing. It makes my day go so much better!
I'm kind of a leader here (surprise?) and I don't mind and other people don't mind either. Ha, I lead the music the other day in 6/8 time and Durkin stood up afterward and said "Did anyone notice that Sister Barney was leading in 6/8? That takes talent!" I blushed. But it was fun. :] I seriously am learning so much here! I'll probably get to email again later today.
It is BEAUTIFUL HERE. You would all absolutely love it! I'll try and send pictures today, it's so so so gorgeous. I want to live here one day.

Acceptance letter to the Brethren:

Dear Brethren,
I have been richly blessed with knowledge, experiences and trials that I know were intended to prepare me to teach and care for specific children of God by way of a mission. Having been called to England I have learned that my genealogical roots there are far deeper than I could have ever imagined. Many years and several generations ago, a brave great-grandmother of mine (whom I am named after) came here alone from England to live the Gospel in Zion.
I am thrilled to go back and bring love Through Christ and the peace of Zion that I have experienced because of that strong Great-Grandmother back to her homeland. I love the people already and am ever grateful our sweet, kind, patient and ever caring Heavenly Father gives us the opportunity to love and uplift our fellow men.
Thank you for the men that you are and the love you give;
Sister Eliza Lynn Barney.

Ello!

Ello!

Ok, not really..I’m from Utah, let’s be honest.

But!

I’m Eliza Lynn Barney.

I love by learning, I learn by living. I live by loving; I am a Mormon.

I have been called as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the England, Manchester mission! I report to the England MTC August 22nd2013. I am THRILLED! I had never considered England but now that the call is here, that’s all I can think about; it is perfect for me. Don’t get me wrong; I’m also absolutely terrified. However, knowing this is the right thing for me to do at the right time in my life is an extraordinary support. I am blessed to have this opportunity to serve, and I am thrilled to love the people of England.
